Analysis & Testing: what really gets their attention?
The human race is funny in that it's hard to know what's really going to appeal to people until you try it out. That's why we include analysis and testing as one of the six steps in creating an effective website. We don't want you to just have a good website--we want you to have the best-performing website you can. And that can only be accomplished by analyzing visitors' behavior and testing different variables to see what gets the best results.
Analysis
To analyze your website visitors' behavior, you must have either:
- a good statistics program as part of your website hosting package (which is preferable) or
- have the website monitored by third-party software.
When we know how many people are visiting, what they're looking at, and for how long, then we'll be able to make recommendations on what parts of your website need to be improved and how. If you choose to host your website through us, you'll get a good statistics program as part of the package.
Our Services
Ongoing monitoring and anlysis
We will track your visitors' behavior, see what's working and what isn't, and recommend adjustments to your website or marketing efforts. You will receive a monthly report. This service costs $80/month.
One-time analysis
We will look over your statistics from the previous 3-6 months and make recommendations for adjustments to your website. This service costs $175.
Testing
Split A/B tests and multivariate tests are ways to see if changing one or more elements on a page--such as a headline or picture--will increase the number of times a visitor responds the way you want them to. It is most useful for things like product pages, which are focused on one item and have one goal: for the visitor to click the "add to cart" or "order now" button. But it can be useful for any page where you want the visitor to take a specific action.
At this time, we are not set up to perform testing services for our clients, but getting to that point is near the top of our priority list.
